Pool Table

 A pool table, often known as a billiards table, is a cue sports table with a delimited surface. All modern billiards tables (whether for carom, pool, pyramid, or snooker) have a flat surface made of quarried slate that is covered with fabric (usually tightly-woven worsted wool called baize) and surrounded by vulcanized rubber cushions, all of which is elevated above the floor. 115, 238 Snooker and pool, for example, have more specialized terminology, and different-sized billiard balls are used on different table types. The billiard board was a common term in the 16th and 17th centuries, but it is now obsolete.
